I was born on a small island called Vieques just off the southeast coast of Puerto Rico. I arrived in Okinawa in 1996. After the birth of my third child, I studied fashion design for three years at Esteen Fashion Institute here in Okinawa. Soon after, I became involved in modeling and later, belly dancing,I started by joining group yoga lessons at my local gym. I was so impressed with its benefits and changes I saw in my life, that I endeavored to be a certified yoga instructor. Before long, I had completed my training from Shanti Yoga Enrichment Series and Yoga Power Teacher Training, earning a CYT200. Later, I continued to add certifications with Rainbow Kids’ Yoga, Yin Yoga, and High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) Yoga certification.

After I finished my Bachelors degree I felt I needed a little more education and enrolled to fashion school in Los Angeles and received my Associates degree in Fashion in product development. I was able to use both degrees not only in the corporate setting but also within the entertainment industry.
Being a celebrity styling assistant and working not only in front of the camera but also behind the scenes in productions.

I've been practicing yoga since 2012. It became a form of therapy to deal with depression as I adjusted to being a new military spouse. You could say that yoga saved me.
I found SUP Yoga on my birthday in Hawai'i while my husband was deployed, and it changed my life. I loved it so much I became an instructor, and PHAT Mermaids was born.
I am improving self-esteem, self-acceptance, and mindfulness on lesson at a time. There is something about the healing waters of the ocean that bestows each of my students with the calming release and rejuvenation.
